MGIaS is actively in touch with International Organizations like YPARD (Young Professionals Platform for Agriculture Research for Development), which facilitates exchange of information and knowledge among young professionals across disciplines and professions to broaden opportunities. The Indian Chapter of YPARD was inaugurated in November 2006 and MGIaS has become a part of it. Most of our students and faculty are members of YPARD. Dr. B. Ramani, the International Coordinator of YPARD, has visited the Institute thrice since its advent in India.
An International Relation Office (IRO) was inaugurated at MGIaS by Prof. Erich Barke, President, Leibniz University, Hannover and Dr. Birgit Barden, Head, International Relation, Leibniz University, Hannover, Germany.
Regular activities like the Annual Sports Week, Freshers Day, Teachers Day, Blood Donation Camp (under the banner of NSS Unit), etc. were organized by the Institute. Over 1100 units of Blood were collected during the Blood Donation Camp which is a record at the state level.
Regular study tours for postgraduate and undergraduate students are organized every year. Students have been to NCL, Pune; CCMB, Hyderabad; CIFE, Mumbai; GKVK, Bangalore; CFTRI, Mysore; IMTech, Chandigarh and other leading research institutes of India. A two-day industry visit to Zydus Cadilla, Ahmedabad was also organized.
At one of the scientific sessions of Indian Science Congress 2008 organized at Vishakhapatnam, Mr. Abhishek Vashishtha, an MGIaS faculty member was invited to address a group of scientists and researchers on Agro-terrorism to highlight the threats and measures to resolve the issue.
Every year the Institute organizes Inter College Youth Fest, "VIBGYOR" in the month of December. For years, VIBGYOR has drawn participation of a large number of students from all over the state.
Our students actively participated in various seminars and extra curricular activities organized at University Departments of Botany, Zoology and Chemistry, University Maharani's College and various other local colleges.
The Faculty members have regularly been deputed to attend refresher courses/orientation programmes organized by the UGC Academic Staff College of different universities across the country.
